Donald Clarence Schultz was born September 8, 1929, in Springfield, MN, the son of Clarence and Louise (Spieker) Schultz. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1947 and then attended Junior College in Tracy. Don moved to Minneapolis and worked at Northwest National Bank. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Blehm in 1956 and returned to Springfield to work on the family farm, farming until 1986. Don and Dorothy purchased Schultz Jewelers in 1980, and also owned and operated S H Sales - a snowmobile dealership in Sanborn from 1970-1979. He started working in the insurance business in the early 1990's until his retirement in December of 2005. Don was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and a Lions Club member for many years. He enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and keeping the family farm in pristine condition. Donald Clarence Schultz died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 77 years. He is survived by wife- Dorothy of Springfield; children- Dawn and Calvin Buddensiek of Springfield, Loree and Jerry (Red) Lang of Springfield, Scott and Chastity Schultz of Springfield, Kari and Dan Solyntjes of Savage, Wendy and Rodney Salonek of Springfield, and Jeanne Krueger of LeSueur; 17 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law- LaVaun Schultz. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother- Dick.
