Donald Lee Remus was born June 13, 1938 in Sleepy Eye to Orville and Selma (Berkner) Remus. After graduation from Sleepy Eye High School he enlisted in the Air Force where he proudly served his country for four years. He married Sharon Fischer on April 1, 1959 in California. He returned to Sleepy Eye in 1960 where he farmed for nearly 10 years. For the next 20 years he worked for the City of Sleepy Eye Sanitation Department. Donnie was retired at the time of his death enjoying life at Ross Park Apartments. Donnie loved driving his car, traveling, visiting with people, making others laugh, playing cards and eating out. He is survived by his sons Steven (Darla), of Sleepy Eye, Todd (Debbie) of Crystal and daughter Shari (Patrick P.J.) Hittesdorf of Sleepy Eye. 11 grandchildren, Sam Remus, Vanessa Remus, Lucas Hittesdorf, Zachary Hittesdorf, Elana Remus, Tucker Hittesdorf, Sydney Remus, Emma Remus, Karrah Remus, Tanner Hittesdorf, Palmer Hittesdorf, one great-grandchild, Jackson, sisters, Lynell Gorka of Forrest Lake and LaVonne Warren of Arizona, sister-in-law, Myrtyce Remus of Sleepy Eye. He was preceeded in death by his parents and brother, Dale and brother-in-law, Donald Gorka.
