Donald Reiner

There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Donald Frank Reiner was born October 13, 1929, in Bashaw Township, Brown County, MN, the son of Joseph and Mary (Tauer) Reiner. Donny farmed in Bingham Lake most of his adult life and had many of his friends and neighbors over for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate with cookies. His door was always open even after he retired from farming. Donny moved to St. John Lutheran Home in June of 2006. He was a former member and council member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey, a current member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Aid Association. Donny served on the Bashaw Township board and enjoyed bowling and collecting antique wind-up toys and tractors. Donald Frank Reiner died Sunday, January 20, 2008, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 78 years. He is survived by adopted sons- Wade and Robbie Reiner; sister- Evelyn and husband William, Jr. 'Bud' Weber of Springfield; brother- Wallace and wife Myrtle Reiner of Springfield; 5 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents- Joseph in 1967, and Mary in 2003.
