Donald Martin Ostberg, 74, of Amboy, Minnesota, died September 1, 2025, on his way home from the races.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm, at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Interment with military honors will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, at 12:00 pm, at East Sveadahl Lutheran Church in rural Saint James. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Don was born January 17, 1951, to Clayton and Frances (Forsyth) Ostberg in Saint James. Upon graduating from Saint James High School in 1969, he enlisted in the Army National Guard. While serving, he continued his education at the Vocational Technical College in Jackson, Minnesota, learning how to be an electrical lineman. On August 28, 1971, he married Rhonda Brehmer. Together, they had two children and later divorced.
Don worked for Interstate Power Company for over 35 years and served as a volunteer firefighter for the Winnebago Fire Department. In his free time, he enjoyed dirt track car races, watching NASCAR, tinkering with cars and going on motorcycle trips with his brothers and friends.
Don is survived by his children, Derrick Ostberg of Minneapolis and Melissa (Evan) Kono of Seaside, Oregon; grandpuppy, Miss Maisey; and siblings, Charles Ostberg (Chris Sames) of Nisswa, Minnesota, Carol (Frank) Leonard of Bellaire, Michigan, Joyce (Gerald) Roust of North Mankato, and Elaine (Michael) Brady of Cape Coral, Florida.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lloyd Ostberg.
