Donald Henry Dick was born the oldest son (and the oldest family grandson) of Fred and Marie Frieda (Dick) Dick on July 31, 1935 at Bingham Lake, MN. He attended Mountain Lake Bible School through the 6th grade and then the Mountain Lake High School. Don attended the EMB Church as a child, and after accepting Jesus as his Lord Don joined the Gospel Mennonite Church (now Lakeview Gospel) on November 1, 1981. On June 26, 1969, Don was united in marriage to Myrna Duerksen at the Gospel Church. He lived his entire life in the Bingham Lake and Mountain Lake area, and he drove truck for Balzer Mfg, Land-O-Lakes and Ron Klassen Trucking all of Mountain Lake, Sunderman Transfer and STI of Windom, and Van Wyke of Sheldon, IA. He also worked for Monarch Ind. in Mountain Lake and for area farmers, Clark Fast, David Ewert, Leslie Harder, Ben Jon Adrian and Eugene Fast. Don enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, playing dominos, bullhead fishing, gardening, cutting down trees, cracking black walnuts and sharing his products. Don died on Friday morning, July 25, 2008 as the result of a truck accident near Waseca, MN. Don is survived by his wife, Myrna Dick of Mountain Lake; two sons, Paul Dick and Daryl Dick of Mountain Lake; a sister, Rosalie (James) Sawatzky of Mountain Lake; two brothers, Arnie (Deb) Dick of Butterfield, MN and Leroy Dick of Mountain Lake; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Loewen of Mountain Lake; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth in infancy; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Dick.
