Dolores Fern Friton

Dolores Fern Friton age 87, of Sleepy Eye, died November 30, 2015, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, MN. Dolores was born on January 3, 1928 to Holger Olin and Daphene Naomi (Simning) Peterson in Foreston, MN. She graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School in 1945. Dolores married O. Lloyd Friton on April 28, 1946 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Evan, MN. Together they farmed in Stark Township. Lloyd died in 2003, she then moved to an apartment in Sleepy Eye. Dolores also lived at the Maples at St. John's in Springfield before moving to Divine in June of 2015. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sewing and tied quilting. Dolores was a collector of dolls, bells, and plates and was interested in keeping family history records. She also read mystery stories and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Dolores was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye where she was active as a circle chair person for many years. She is survived by her 6 children, Grant (Verna) of Sleepy Eye, Eunice DeGarmo of Hampton, Douglas (Kelly), Mark, Betty (David) Mack, all of Sleepy Eye, David (Tracy) of East Bethel, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one sister, Arlene (Roy) Dunn of Cottage Grove and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Rodney, sister, Phyllis Ricke, grandson, Jerry Alan Mack and great-granddaughter, Treasure Dawn Hoffmann.
