Diane Kirchner

Diane Ruth Schmidt, the daughter of Alvin and Dorothy (Green) Schmidt, was born on July 19, 1951, in Mountain Lake, MN. She was a student at and graduated from the Mountain Lake Public School, and she continued her education at the Mankato Business College in Mankato, MN. Diane was baptized upon confession of her faith and became a member of the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake. She enjoyed fitness and jogging, and in 1986 Diane met Al Kirchner at a health club near her home. On May 16,1990 Diane and Al were united in marriage in Las Vegas. They made their home in the Twin Cities area, where Diane worked for Jim Lupient Oldsmobile and Wealth Enhancement Financial Planners. In 2001 they moved to Ocala, FL, where she worked for Community Bank and Trust. Diane enjoyed walking and biking, walks on the beach with Al, boardgames, Mahjong and Sudoku. In August 2008 Diane and Al came to Mountain Lake so Diane could be near her family, and on Wednesday afternoon, November 12, 2008 Diane died at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Diane is survived by her husband, Al Kirchner of Ocala, FL; a son, Michael Friesen of Plymouth, MN; two step sons, Troy Kirchner of Eagan, MN and Dean Kirchner and his wife Tonya and their son Brendon of Bloomington, MN; her parents, Alvin and Dorothy Schmidt of Mountain Lake; a sister, Donna Prochazka and her husband Randy of Butterfield, MN; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
