Diane Arnold-Haala, age 56, of New Ulm died Sunday, November 10, 2013. A memorial mass will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Visitation is Saturday from 8:30-10:15 at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia. Burial in the church cemetery will be at a later date. Diane Marie Arnold-Haala was born December 26, 1956 in Olivia, MN to Edward and Peg (Kelly) Arnold. She grew up in Olivia and graduated from Olivia High School in 1974. Diane then attended Alexandria Vo-Tech to become a Medical Lab Technician. After graduation she held various positions with the New Ulm Hospital and the Sleepy Eye Hospital/Clinic. Later she spent several years employed at AMPI in New Ulm. Diane completed her career as owner/operator of Countryside Electrolysis near New Ulm. She had been a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. Diane married Bruce Haala on September 13, 1997. She had loved being outdoors and especially family gatherings at the lake cabin. She also enjoyed spending time on farms, animals, traveling, cooking, and took great pride in her craft work. Diane's final years were spent under the loving care of the staff of Alison House in New Ulm and her family was most appreciative of their compassion. Diane is survived by her parents: Ed and Peg Arnold of Olivia; her brother Doug (and Patty) Arnold of Redwood Falls; her sister Paula (and Rob) DuChaine of Shoreview; her nephews: Chad (and Molly) Arnold and David Arnold; her nieces: Ashley Arnold and Emily Arnold; her grand-nephew Blake Arnold; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
