Devy Lindquist

Devy Lu Kathlyn Abelson was born September 21, 1927, on the family farm near Butterfield, to parents Clarence and Alice (Johnson) Abelson. She attended country school through the 7th grade, 8th grade in Butterfield and graduated from St. James High School in 1945. Devy work at ST Industries, J.C. Penneys, Coast to Coast, ASCS office, and as a bookkeeper at Tony Downs before going to work for Watonwan County Farm Service where she worked for 17 years. Devy was united in marriage to Bruce Bowen on November 12, 1947, he preceded her in death on January 25, 1978. On June 1, 1985, she married Milton Lindquist, he passed away on August 24, 2003. Devy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, card club, extension club and serving on numerous church committees. She enjoyed wintering in Arizona from 1986 to 2011. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her "LuLu". Devy loved spending time and visiting with her friends. She is survived by her daughters; Linda Geiger of Hanska, LuAnn (Curtis) Giese of Windom, Lorna Bowen of Stewartville, step-children; Gene (Judy) Lindquist of St. James, Kaylene (Bob) Aanessen of St. Cloud, Angie (David) Lura of Minneapolis, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, parents, son-in-law, Vern Geiger and special friend Vernon Enger.
