Dennis Arthur Thompson, age 60, of Grogan, Minnesota, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from an apparent heart attack. Dennis was born on June 11, 1949 to Arthur C. and Helen (Nelson) Thompson in St. James, Minnesota. He attended the country school in Grogan, and graduated from St. James High School. He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Quiring on June 15, 1968 in St. Charles, Minnesota. They made their home in Grogan, Minnesota. Dennis was employed as a draftsman for Scherr-Tumico during the early years of his marriage. He then attended Mankato State University and Hibbing Community College for law enforcement. After graduation, Dennis served on the Madelia Police Department for many years before working as an officer for the City of Mountain Lake. Over the last ten years he focused on his business, DesignArt Technology, where he was able to combine his creativity and enthusiasm with his natural talent for art, design, and photography. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Kimberly (Donevan) Saxon of St. James and Jennifer (Jeff) Groebner of Eagan; grandsons Benjamin Brackelsberg and Jacob Salo; step-grandsons Josh and Jacob Groebner; parents Art and Helen Thompson of Grogan; sisters Annie (Mike) Lawrence of Madelia, Kathy (Blair) Haler of St. James, and Jodi (Jerry) Mundt of Madison Lake; mother-in-law Rose Quiring of St. James; sisters-in-law Dorothy (Richard) Burns of Long Island, NY and Betty (Douglas) Roiger of New Ulm, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Ann, and brother Steven L. Thompson.
