There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. A memorial service will be on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at the New Hope Lutheran Church. Dennis Marvin Peters was born May 2, 1937 to John R and Marie (Pankratz) Peters in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. He was baptized on June 1, 1952 at the Gospel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN. He attended the Christian Bible School in elementary and then Mountain Lake High School. In 1957 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1959 and was honorably discharged. Dennis was united in marriage to Arbadella (Arbie) Engler on Sept 13, 1959 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Windom, MN. Dennis worked at the Land O' Lakes Creamery in Mt. Lake for 33 years, while also working on the Franz farm for Sam and Martin (Bud) Franz. Dennis lived in Mt. Lake his whole life until moving to Alexandria, MN ten years ago. Dennis and Arbie spent the last 32 winters at their home in Apache Junction, AZ and loved it there. He was a member of the American Legion in Mt. Lake, and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking in Arizona and at his shop at Aric and Elizabeth's farm near Glenwood. He enjoyed making many beautiful pieces of woodwork for family and friends. Dennis also enjoyed fishing, golfing and hunting in earlier years and playing cards, working in the wood shop and swimming later in life with his AZ friends. Most of all he loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with the great-grandkids. Dennis passed away at Apache Rehab/Therapy Center in Apache Junction, AZ on January 9, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arbie of Alexandria; Daughters-Pam Coners of Alexandria and Brenda (Chuck) Coners of Comfrey. Grandchildren; Elizabeth (Aric) Bowen of Glenwood, Emily Coners (Andrew Windschitl) of Sioux Falls, SD and Scott Coners (Jessie Reel) of Springfield. Great Grandchildren; Eric, Aidan & Andrew Bowen. Chloe & Olivia Coners, Jackson & Jayden Meyers. Brother; Clarence Peters of Rice Lake, Wisc. Brother-in-Laws; Elmer Buller of Mt. Lake, DuWayne Olson of St. Cloud, Arlan (Ilene) Engler of Revere, Chuck Engler of Heron Lake, Sister-in-Law Sandy Anderson of Sleepy Eye. Dennis was preceded in death by his Parents. Sisters; Arlene Peters, Rubie Buller and Darlene Olson. Son-in Law; Carl Coners. Brother-in Laws; Floyd Oberg, Roger Engler and Don Anderson. Sister-in Laws; Nancy Peters, Julie Engler, Jane Engler.
