Dennis Leroy Peters

Dennis Peters age 78, of Saint James, MN, died on July 4, 2024, surrounded by his family in New Ulm, MN.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel and will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.

Service will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11:00 am.

The clergy will be Chris Olson. Interment will be at the Rosendale Lutheran Cemetery in rural St. James, MN.

A reception will follow at the American Legion in St. James.

Dennis LeRoy Peters was born to Bill and Evalyn (Davis) Peters on February 22, 1946 in St. James, MN.  Dennis grew up on a farm in rural St. James and graduated from St. James High School.  He became a truck driver and drove truck for many years.  Dennis married Anna Carol Bell on August 26, 1989 in Reno, NV.  The couple lived in California and moved back to St James in October of 1991.  Dennis worked at Tony Downs and Swift as a boiler operator.  In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, 'putzing' in the garage and wood working.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Laurie (Kenny) Kohn of New Ulm; grandchildren, Matthew (Angela) Saporito, Brody Kohn; great-grandchildren, Kash Saporito, Alice and Evelyn Kohn; brothers, Dale (Debbie) Peters, Arne (Diane) Peters, Bill Peters; and sister, Alice Schwager, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Evalyn Peters; wife, Anna Carol Peters and brother, Jerry (Faye) Peters and brother-in-law, Bert Schwager.
