Dennis Bonzo John Baumann was born on March 19, 1943, to Leo and Audrey (Haechrel) Baumann in Tracy, MN. The family lived in Currie until moving to Springfield where he lived the rest of his life. After graduating from high school, he was a mechanic at Weber Ford. He also worked at St. Raphael Catholic School and Springfield Public School. On October 11, 1969, Dennis was united in marriage to Karen Jenniges at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. Dennis was very proud to be a foster grandparent with Lutheran Social Services at the Comfrey Public Schools for many years. He was a member of St. Raphaels Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Bonzo enjoyed bowling, camping, being outdoors, and working around the house. His favorite time was with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandson. He is survived by his wife Karen Baumann of Springfield; children - Curtis (Roxane) Baumann of Springfield, Dan (Kalynn) Baumann of Edgerton, WI, Anne Wersal (Kevin Wendt) of Springfield, Kristin Baumann of Springfield; grandchildren - Christopher Wersal of Phoenix, AZ, Britany Wersal (Brandon Low) of Valley Springs, CA, Andrew Baumann of Springfield, Abbey Baumann of Marshall, and Hailey and Hannah Baumann of Edgerton, WI; great grandson - Sawyer Wersal of Valley Springs, CA; step grandchildren - Melissa (Scott) Honl of Norwood, Travis (Katie) Wendt of Springfield, and Cody (Sara) Wendt of Springfield; and step grandchildren - Parker and Layla Honl of Norwood and Connor Wendt of Springfield; sisters - Jeanette (Michael) Roy of Eldersburg, MD, Mary (Orville) Knott of Iowa Falls, IA, Beverly (Chris) Heisler of Las Vegas, NV, and Julie (Douglas) Houston of Iowa Falls, IA; sister-in-law - Gail Jenniges of Springfield; brothers-in-law - John (Colleen) Jenniges and Joseph (Barb) Jenniges all of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Audrey Baumann; infant son - Christopher Michael; sisters Diane (Richard) Bergquist and Rita Baumann; parents-in-law Alfred and Ethel Jenniges; sister-in-law Adeline (James) Rummel; and brother-in-law James Jenniges.
