Denis Nachreiner

Denis Milton Nachreiner was born March 11, 1930, to Hugo and Loretta (Weber) Nachreiner in Burnstown Township, Brown County and raised by Hugo and Theresa (Mathiowetz) Nachreiner on their family farm in Burnstown Township. Denis attended rural school in Burnstown Township and St. Raphael's Catholic School. He married Dorothy Blankenhagen on June 2, 1953 in Sanborn. After their marriage, Denis farmed on their family's farm in Burnstown Township. Denis was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church where he served on the church's Parish Council, the Cemetery Board and led the Rosary for seven years. He was a member of both the Knights of Columbus and St. Boniface Society. Denis was an active member of the Farmer's Union serving in a number of leadership positions for both the local and Brown County chapters. Denis M Nachreiner, 77 of Springfield, died March 19, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Home. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Nachreiner of Springfield; a daughter, Diane Vogt of Albert Lea; a daughter, Denise Nachreiner of Rochester; a daughter and son-in-law, David and Doreen Vogel of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Lisa Nachreiner of Brandon, SD; a daughter and son-in-law, Craig and Darla Wendt of Hayfield; nine grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Richard and LaMay Drexler of Redwood Falls; and a sister and brother-in-law, Clarence and Irene Weiss of Comfrey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Loretta; and his step-mother, Theresa. Denis took great pride in his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and hunting with family and friends alike. He valued both the bargains and friendships from the auctions he often attended. In lieu of flowers, the family would request memorials to any of the following of Denis' cherished organizations: the Spina Bifida Association, Parkinson's Research,St. Raphael's Catholic Church or St. John's Lutheran Home.
