Denis Juenemann

Denis was born on August 12, 1924 to John and Agatha (Hillesheim) Juenemann on the family farm in Willow Lake Township. He grew up on the Juenemann family farm and lived there, except for the time he served in the Army, until marriage. Denis served in the Army and was deployed to Germany during World War II, serving from May of 1945 to November of 1946. On September 7, 1957, he was married to Patricia Ulmen. The couple lived on a farm they purchased in Sundown Township where they were dairy and crop farmers until retirement. Denis took great pride in his dairy operation winning many awards for production over the years. He was a member of the Clements American Legion and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Denis enjoyed watching the Twins and Vikings, bird watching, mowing lawn, caring for his moss roses and reading, but most of all enjoyed spending time with family. Denis and Pat also enjoyed taking many bus tours over the years, including to Alaska and to the East Coast. Denis died on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at his home, at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children - Karen (Richard) Brandl of Comfrey, Michael Juenemann of Granite Falls, Mark (Connie) Juenemann of Clements, Sharon Juenemann of High Ridge, MO, Kathryn Juenemann of High Ridge, MO, Gregory Juenemann of Clements, David Juenemann and special friend, Darlene Gelyon of Little Valley, NY, Douglas (Heather) Juenemann of Elko New Market, and Debra (Tom) Hammerschmidt of Morgan; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; sister Bernice Goblirsch of Morgan; and special dog friends-Skeeter and Libby. Denis was preceded in death by his parents; Pat's parents - Martin and Lucille Ulmen; brothers - Richard, Herbert, Bennett, and baby boy in infancy; sisters and brothers-in-law - Dorothy (Clement) Sellner and Laurene (Gilbert) Hoehn; and brother-in-law Lawrence Goblirsch.
