Delyle Radtke

DeLyle "Lyle" Edward Radtke, age 70 of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, died peacefully with Pam by his side, on September 1, 2023, at Windom Area Health in Windom.

DeLyle Edward Radtke, the son of Edward and Gertie (Menken) Radtke, was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, on April 14, 1953. He graduated from Mountain Lake Public School in 1971. Lyle was a member of Lakeview Gospel Church in Mountain Lake.

He worked for his dad, Edward at Radtke Welding with his brother, LeRoy. In 1986, Lyle and LeRoy purchased Radtke Welding. They continued working together until Lyle’s stroke in 2005. After recovering from his stroke, Lyle started working at the Care and Share in Mountain Lake, which he did for over 16 years.

On October 13, 1973, DeLyle married his best friend and love of his life, Pamela Firme in Mountain Lake. This union blessed them with three children, Brandon, Korey, and Alyssa. Together they raised all three children in Mountain Lake.

DeLyle volunteered at the Mountain Lake Fire Department for over 20 years. He enjoyed helping people and made many friends throughout his life. He looked forward to his weekly Friday nights at the Den where he would relax and visit with friends.

When Lyle wasn’t spending time with his family or volunteering you could find him at the golf course or at the pool table. He was a pool superstar. He also enjoyed watching all Minnesota sports, especially the Vikings. Lyle and Pam also enjoyed traveling to various destinations, such as, the Caribbeans on a cruise, Duluth, Grand Marais, Maui, Hawaii, and to family reunions in Nebraska, Colorado, and Minnesota.

His pride and joy was being a dad and a grandfather. He loved his children, and it was evident in everything Lyle did. Once he became a grandfather, it because apparent on how much he loved his grandchildren as well. He was so proud of every single one of them.

DeLyle is survived by his wife, Pam of Mountain Lake; sons, Brandon of Shakopee and Korey (Jaque) of Mountain Lake; grandchildren, Morgan, Nolan, Chase, Aayla; sisters,  Linda Coe of Brentwood, California, Judy (Jerry) Friesen of Omaha, Nebraska; brother, LeRoy (Diane) Radtke of Mountain Lake brothers-in-law, Michael (Cindy) Firme of Redwood Falls, Richard (Corinne) Firme of New Richland, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Alyssa; granddaughter, Sutton; parents, Ed and Gertie; father and mother-in-law, LaVerne and Peg Firme.
