Delrose Braun

Delrose G. Berberich was born on February 19, 1926 near Leavenworth, MN the daughter of Edwin Mary (Ludwig) Berberich. She grew up and attended country school in Leavenworth. Delrose married Wendelin Braun on May 20, 1946 at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. The couple made their home on a farm in Brookville Township, Redwood County, MN. They moved to Sleepy Eye in 1976 and Delrose sold Avon products for a few years and then went to work for the Sleepy Eye Care Center as a dietary aide. She retired as head food manager in 1984 after 14 years of service. Delrose was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, the Catholic Aid and the Divine Providence Home Auxiliary. She enjoyed many hobbies, including crocheting afghans, playing bingo, and cards. She and Wendelin had traveled to all 50 states and many other locations including Canada and Germany. 80 year old Delrose G. Braun of Sleepy Eye, MN died Wednesday, May 10th, 2006 at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Survivors include her husband Wendelin of Sleepy Eye, children, Eugene of Sleepy Eye, Richard (special friend, Gloria) of Fairmont, Phyllis (John) Griebel of Searles, Marlys (Larry) Zeig of New Ulm, Larry (Lavonn) of Sleepy Eye, Sue (Dan) Helget of Sleepy Eye, Michael (Lori) of Sleepy Eye, Barb (Rick) Nelson of North Port, FL, Lyle (Susie) of Temecula, CA, Curtis (Heidi) of Kerkhoven, MN, and Ronnie (Michelle) of El Cajon, CA, 28 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, sister, Isabelle (Everett) Huiras of Sleepy Eye, sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Berberich of Comfrey, Elvira Berberich of Sleepy Eye and Gen Berberich of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Wendelin, Jr in infancy, grandchild Ricky Nelson, Jr, brothers, Harold, Leo and Linus and sisters Alice (Norbert) Braun and Doreen (Walter) Braulick.
