Delorna Bechtel

DeLorna was born on November 30, 1927 in Sherburn, Minnesota to Simon and Minnie (Salzwedel) Krogh. She was baptized on Christmas Day in 1927 at home and was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield, Minnesota in April, 1941. She graduated from Lakefield High School in 1946. On March 11, 1951, Dee was married to Willis Bechtel in Lakefield. From 1951 to 1971 they lived in Fremont, Nebraska, and in 1971 they moved to Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Dee worked at the Manor Inn and Duebers in Mountain Lake. She loved to garden, crochet, and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dee was involved with the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church choir and Missionary League. DeLorna Mae Bechtel died on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake after a courageous 30 year battle with breast cancer. She attained the age of 79 years, seven months and five days. Dee is survived by her husband, Willis Bechtel of Mountain Lake; four children, Valerie Limbach and husband Lee of Fremont, NE, Cynthia Boldt and husband Merle of Mountain Lake, Gregory Bechtel and wife Kelli of Mountain Iron, MN, and Daunne Schaller and husband Chris of Lakeville, MN; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Minnie Krogh; a brother, Lester Krogh; and an infant sister.
