Deloris Stern

Deloris Stern, age 85 of Springfield, died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. There will be a Parish Prayer Service on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and a CCW Rosary on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Deloris Margaret Stern was born April 1, 1922, in Springfield, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Saffert) Hoecherl. Deloris was united in marriage to Arthur Stern on November 26, 1941, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. The couple lived their entire lives in Springfield. Arthur died in 1998, and Deloris moved to St. John Lutheran Home in July of 2002. Deloris worked at the Springfield Hospital for many years and enjoyed playing cards and visiting with relatives and friends. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church and the CCW. Deloris Margaret Stern died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 85 years. She is survived by son- Linus and wife Susan Stern of New Ulm; grandsons- Eric and wife Kimberly Stern, Matthew Stern, and Brandon Stern, all of New Ulm; great granddaughter- Kayla Stern of New Ulm; brother- Ervin and wife Joan Hoecherl of Sycamore, IL; and sisters- Mercedes and husband Ray Sellner of Sycamore, IL, Edith Peterson of New Hope, MN, and Eileen Watkins of Gastonia, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Arthur; 2 children at birth; brothers- Joseph, Florian, and Norbert; and sisters- Anna Mandrey, Elizabeth Lindstrom, Agnes Mandrey, and Sevilla Baier.
