Deloris was born on July 31, 1929 in New Auburn, MN the daughter of Walter J. Sylvia (Wegner) Polzin. She graduated from Glencoe High School and then attended St. Andrew's School of Nursing in Minneapolis. Deloris married Leslie V. Steffl on Oct 13, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye where Deloris worked as a nurse at the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital for 46 years. Deloris enjoyed her family and many friends, bowling, fishing and watching the MN Twins and Vikings. She was inducted in to the Bowling Hall of Fame. She was a member of the St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Survivors include her children, Mark (Mary) Steffl of New Ulm, Joel (Kay) Steffl of New Ulm, Jan (Kevin) Smith of Long Prairie, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brothers, Lawrence (Kay) Polzin of Gaylord, Robert (Vicki) Polzin of Hutchinson, sisters, Arlene (Merlin) Overlie of Hutchinson and Eleanor (Don) Marth of Gaylord, sisters-in-law, Beata Polzin of Glencoe and Carol Polzin-Magnuson of New Brighton. She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie, parents, brothers, Marvin Willard, sister, Dorothy and grandson, Jared Steffl.
