Deloris Roiger

June 20, 1925 — August 28, 2010

Deloris Ann Roiger was born on June 20, 1925 and grew up southwest of Springfield, the second daughter of George and Frieda (Haas) Wersal Sr. She attended School District #62 at Dotson for eight years. Then she worked at home and helped relatives and neighbors with children care. She married Gerhardt Roiger on April 25, 1944 and they started farming south of Cobden. The couple moved to a farm southwest of Springfield in 1947 and raised corn, oats, soy beans and hay. Deloris was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield and Altar Society. She enjoyed playing cards, embroidery, cross stitching, quilting, pillow making, cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Deloris died on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Springfield Medical Center at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her husband - Gerhardt Roiger of Springfield; children - George (Mary Jo) Stage of Pelican Rapids, MN, Jan (Ed) Rowley of Rochester, MN, Gloria Roiger of Redwood Falls, MN, Larry (Beverly) Roiger of St. Peter, MN, Jeff Roiger of Sanborn, Doreen (Dale) Wenisch of St. Louis Park, MN, Terry (Robin) Roiger of Sanborn, MN, and Kurt (Shelby Arndtson) Roiger of Sanborn, MN; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; siblings - Leo (Darlene) Wersal of Sioux Falls, SD, Mary "Patty" Helget of Cleghorn, IA, Clement (Donna) Wersal of Springfield, MN, and Annette "Nettie" (Robert) Kelly of Comfrey; sisters-in-law - Viola Fredrickson, Cecelia Wersal, Marlene Hesch, Phyllis, Mrs. George Jr. Wersal , Phyllis, Mrs. Lenis Wersal; and brothers-in-law - Roman Roiger, and Jerry Sierens. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter - Joyce Roiger; sisters - Arlene (Alrine) Stage and Marcella Sierens; brothers - Pete Wersal, Robert Wersal, George Wersal Jr., Lenis Wersal; a brother-in-law - Kenny Helget and nieces - Rita and Levina Stage.
