Delores Soukup

Delores Ann Soukup was born June 11, 1929 in New Ulm, MN the daughter of Henry and Elsie (Zimonski) Kuebler. She attended Sleepy Eye Public School where she graduated with the class of 1947. Delores married Francis Soukup on October 22, 1949 and the couple lived on a farm north of Sleepy Eye. She worked many years at the extension office in Sleepy Eye, then Del Monte before retiring. The couple moved to Sleepy Eye in 1992 where she lived in her home until moving to Divine Providence Community Home on January 16, 2013. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Ladies VFW Auxiliary. Delores enjoyed working on the farm canning, gardening, and having card parties with friends. She always enjoyed laughing and being with people and helping wherever she could. Delores is survived by her only son Patrick and wife Mary Soukup of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren- Jackie (Nick) Barnes, and Chris (Darcy) Huwe; great-grandchildren- Jasmine Barnes, Trenten Barnes, Jaden Geiser, Kara Huwe, and Khloe Huwe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis in 2001; and sisters- Ethel and Leona.
