Delores Catherine Hruby

Delores Catherine Hruby age 88, of Madelia, Minnesota died on March 12, 2016, at her home in Madelia. Delores Catherine (Krenik) Hruby, the daughter of Edward and Agnes (Svoboda) Krenik was born on October 11, 1927 at the hospital in Montgomery, MN. She attended country school, district 77 until 8th grade and then she attended LeCenter public schools. After graduation she attended Franklin Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She married her husband of 65 years, Robert Hruby on September 27, 1950. Delores worked for St. Peter Community Hospital, Dr. Stather and Wilcox, St. Peter Regional Treatment Center and St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. She also worked by her husband Robert's side for 21 years at B & D Auto Supply. She later went to work at Lake Crystal Nursing Home, retiring in 1995. After her retirement, Delores cared for her friends by providing transportation to those who were in need. She also enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delores loved the lake, traveling with her husband and going to the casinos. She was a member of the VFW, Legion Auxiliary and CCW. Delores is survived by her husband, Robert Hruby; children, Linda Ezekiel of San Antonio, TX, James (Judy) of Madelia, Allan (Tammy) of Lake Crystal, Ronald Hruby of Madelia, Patrick (Deidre) Hruby of Madelia, Deb (Todd) Simpson of Madelia, Diane McMonagle of Madelia; siblings, Norbert (Teresa) Krenik of LeCenter, Margaret Traxler of LeCenter, John (Mary) Krenik of Mankato, Gordon (Kathy) Krenik of Brooklyn Park, Ed (Hannah) Krenik of Plainview; sister-in-law, Mary Krenik of LeCenter; 22 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Agnes Krenik; brothers, Richard and Daniel (Gayle) Krenik, and brother-in-law, Charles Traxler.
