Delores Eischen

February 24, 1929 — April 7, 2013

Delores Maxine (Olson) Eischen was born the daughter of Oscar and Mary (Rae) Olson on February 24, 1929 in Jasper, MN. She attended and graduated from Jasper Public School. On January 4, 1949 she was united in marriage to Aloysius Eischen in Jasper, MN. Lorrie instilled in us all the importance of faith, family and God's world. She was a proud farmer's wife, feeding crews during haying and harvest, packing lunches and walking out to the fields to deliver them. She cared for barnyard babies and spring chickens, her cats and dogs. A huge garden was always a part of her life. She thoroughly enjoyed canning shelves of tomatoes and pickles, freezing corn and making jams and jellies. She took pride in her countless batches of cookies and candies and loaves of fresh baked bread. She loved her flowers, pressing many to adorn the cards she would send to special people in her life. She was always able to stretch a meal at a moment's notice. Family traditions were passed down to all of us. Holidays and birthdays centered around everyone's favorites including her homemade angel food cakes. She welcomed each new addition to the family with open arms and a loving heart. She was excited to spend time with a new mother, ready to lend a hand. She always had room on her lap for one more grandchild. Her grandchildren were the center of her life. Playing cards, popcorn and a movie, or forts in the grove, she always had time to play. She was so proud of their many accomplishments. Her latest joy was the arrival of her two great grandsons. She taught us to appreciate the little things in life, like fresh sheets off the line, flowers picked by a grandchild, the gentle rains of spring, and the satisfaction in a job well done. Her faith in God, and the love of her parish gave her great comfort. Lorrie was a true volunteer. From preparing food for hospital benefits and lining up parades to starting our religious education program, and serving as a lay presider and a Eucharistic minister. Doing for others came so easily to her. She was an active member with American Legion Auxiliary, St. Paul's CCW and choir, and Catholic United Financial. Her faith and her family were priorities in her life. May her memory live on in the many lives she touched.
