Delbert Arnold Johnson was born on June 4, 1932 in Springfield, MN, the son of Arnold and Anna (Zamzow) Johnson. Delbert attended country school near Springfield. On March 6, 1953 he enlisted with the US Army and served his country in Germany. On February 28, 1955 Delbert was honorably discharged. He married Roberta Schiller on October 14, 1956 in Springfield. Delbert worked for Harold Timm, Richard Loomis, and at Hap Ouverson's Chevrolet in Springfield and was a member of the Springfield American Legion, New Life Assembly of God Church in Springfield, and a CB radio club. He enjoyed CB radio's, motorcycles, and spending time with his grandchildren. Delbert died on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his wife - Roberta of Springfield; children - Rosemarry Elsing of Springfield and Dean Johnson of Evan; grandchildren - Nichole and Paul Peichel of Springfield and their children - April, Stephen, and Emma; Nina Wenisch of Springfield and her friend - Jared Dolezal and her child - Jazamine; Ronald Wenish of Springfield; Rachel Johnson of Lafayette and her friend - Jason Halvorson and her child - Raymond; Emily Johnson of Evan; and Alysha Johnson of Evan; a brother - Norbert and his wife Faith Johnson of Sanborn; and a sister - Darla Lang of Mankato. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister - Betty Ann.
