Deborah Stenger

Deborah Jo (Quist) Stenger was born January 17, 1948, to John and Patricia (Gast) Quist in Stillwater, MN. On May 21, 1973, she was united in marriage to Floyd Stenger in Watertown, SD. The couple started their married life living in St. Paul until moving to Esko, New Ulm, and then Sleepy Eye. While living in Sleepy Eye, Deb worked at BIC Graphics as a custom clerk and was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Deb loved to cross stitch, make her own cards, camping, fishing, and attending craft fairs. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Deb was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother anyone could ask for. Everyone should have a Deb in their family. Deb lost her courageous 7 year battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family on August 21, 2015, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center at the age of 67. She is survived by her loving husband Floyd of Sleepy Eye; daughters - Sara (Bryan) Sellner of Sleepy Eye and Samantha (Seth) Dreckman of New Ulm; grandchildren - Matthew, Mason, and Megan Sellner and Daviney, Preston, and baby Dreckman due in February; mother Patricia Johnson; siblings - Sandra (Bill) Eaton, Susan (Steve) Nelson, and Thomas (Kris) Quist; nieces - Jennifer and Cady Eaton, Mindy and Missi Abel, and Kallie Quist; special friends, co-workers, and extended family. Deb was preceded in death by her father John Quist; step father Elmer "Red" Johnson; and brother-in-law Bill Abel.
