Dean Bernard Dannhoff age 73, of Mankato, MN, died on July 1, 2025, at the Harry Meyering Center in Mankato.
A memorial service will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour prior.
The clergy will be Rev. Matthew Rusert. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, in South Branch Township, MN.
Dean Bernard Dannhoff was born on December 25, 1951 to Bernard and Lorna (Zellmer) Dannhoff. He attended various private education throughout his childhood due to his special needs. In his younger years he loved riding his bike and taking his dog for walks. Dean always had a fondness for farm animals and loved talking and learning about farming. He volunteered with the Special Olympics and spent his free time watching Bandwagon and Western programs on television. Dean also enjoyed bowling. He was a life long member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, South Branch and was baptized and confirmed there as a child.
Dean lived at home with his family until 1998 when he went to live in group homes. He was a faithful worker at the MRCI Thrift Shop in Mankato from 1998 -2018. He was a loving brother and uncle.
Dean is survived by his brothers, Ron (Chris) Dannhoff of Hartford, SD, Gary (Linda) Dannhoff of Mankato; aunt, Marlene Davis of Madelia, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lorna Dannhoff; grandparents; infant sister and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
