Raised in New Jersey by his parents, John and Louise Silfies, he was the youngest of six children. Led by God's plan, he attended 12 years of school in Wisconsin: Northwestern Preparatory School(1986), Northwestern Lutheran College (1990), and earned his Master of Divinities degree in 1994 from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. David served several congregations over fifteen years, faithfully preaching and teaching God's Word to all who walked through the church doors. When that chapter closed, he chose to serve the community as a hearing aid dispenser. His patients adored him and praised his honesty and work ethic. He loved baseball and his beloved Yankees, even when they played badly.

David was also staunchly loyal, and fiercely loved his family. He often said, "After faith, family is everything. You do everything you can for family."

David is survived by his wife, Laurie (Jeske); his sons, Ethan (fiancée Crystal) Silfies and Wyatt Silfies; grandchildren, Gaborik, Chance, Ella, and Hazel; his sister, Lisa (Matthew) Kane; brother, John Silfies; many nieces and nephews; and you.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Louise Silfies; his sister, Georgiana "Sugar" and brother-in-law, Ray Bucey; brother, Michael and sister-in-law, Kathy Kane; and brother, Wayne Silfies.
