David Edward Schiller

David Edward Schiller age 83, of Comfrey, MN died on September 23, 2024, at St. Cloud Hospital.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the New Hope Lutheran Church, Comfrey and will continue on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Memorial service will be held at New Hope Lutheran Church on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Pastor Jason Bonnickson. Interment will be at New Hope/Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Comfrey, MN.

David Edward Schiller was born on May 6, 1941 the son of Edward and Mildred (Timm) Schiller in Sundown Township. He attended and graduated from Springfield High School. He went on to serve in the Unites States Army from 1964 - 1966. David was united in marriage to Jean Steffen on April 8, 1967 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn, MN. He worked for Sawvill Feed and Seed in Clements and in 1969 they moved to Comfrey where he managed and later purchased the Farm Store. David started selling insurance in 1983 at People's State Agency and sold insurance for 33 years, retiring in 2015. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them as their lives developed, fishing, and golfing. David was a lifetime member of DAV, Comfrey American Legion, served 31 years on the Comfrey Fire Department, city council and was a church council member.

David is survived by his wife, Jean; children - Jennifer (Mike) Redman of Comfrey, Paul (Ronda) Schiller of Comfrey, and Emie (Brian) Krueger of Breezy Point; grandchildren - Mitchell (Lizzie) Redman, Dustin Redman (Kayla Vonk), Carly Redman, Ella Krueger and Owen Krueger; great granddaughter, Hazel Rae Redman; step grandchildren - Trent (Taryn) Mattison, Taylor Mattison and Nathan Mattison (Macie Weber); step great grandchildren - Lauren, Mitchell and Sawyer Mattison; siblings - Donald (Margaret) Schiller of Wabasso, Joan Springborg of Iola, WI, Janice Kettner of Springfield, Lola Dahmes of Redwood Falls, Lorene Elg of Spicer, Darvin (Ardis) Schiller of Morgan, Doug Schiller of Clements, Elizabeth (Lloyd) Jacobson of Redwood Falls, Jolene Krueger (Donnie Hodak) of Redwood Falls, and Daniel (Vicki) Schiller of Delano and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Daniel Redman; siblings - Roberta, LouAnn, Eileen, Kathleen, Dennis, and Charles and many other loving family members.
