David "Ernie" Rue

David “Ernie” Glenn Rue was born on August 23, 1945, in Tracy, MN, the son of Glenn and Mary (Warren) Rue. He attended and graduated from Lamberton High School. David was drafted into the US Army in 1965. He was united in marriage to Nancy Giese on November 20, 1965, at Sharon Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with 3 children.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. The one thing he loved most of all was spending time with friends and family. He worked part time for Lamberton Heating and Plumbing for over 30 years and also at Jonti-Craft until his retirement. David was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton and the Andrew Peterson American Legion Post #41.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy; children - Wendy (Todd) Mattison, Brenda (Rick) Kreinbring, Darren (Allison) Rue; grandchildren - Jerilyn (Jake) Bruce and their daughter Suraya, Stephanie (Preston) Finger, Morgan Mattison, Dylan Brunz, Paige (fiancé Nick) Brunz, Dawson and Stella Rue; 2 step grandchildren; and siblings - Donald, Myron (Judy), Wayne, Steven (Paula), Gayle (Ed) Erickson, Denise (Jim) Beyers and Keith (Julie).

David was preceded in death by Ida Pedersen and C.C. Hanson, his parents Glenn and Mary Rue, father and mother-in-law Gerald and Gladys Giese, granddaughter Presli JoAnn and brother Brian.
