David Chopper Michael Meyer was born on September 28, 1950 in St. James, MN, the son of Jospeh F. Alice M. (Hanno) Meyer. He grew up and graduated from Butterfield High School in 1969. After he completed his schooling Chopper went to work for the Chicago N.W. Railroad for about 5 years. He then drove truck for several companies including; Hoggeman Trucking, Butterfield Foods, Lorenz Construction of St. Peter, GM Contracting in Lake Crystal, Elroy Menssen in the winter months and most recently Mathiowetz Construction of Leavenworth. Chopper enjoyed playing golf and hunting occasionally. He especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Survivors include, his son, Jeff Belben and fiancee Kimberly Watson of Sioux Falls, SD, brother, Tom (Brenda) Meyer of Butterfield, sisters, Patricia (Ole) Strand of Bloomington, Mary Sprint of Mankato, Alice Sorenson of Burnsville and numerous nieces, nephews and other close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jim, Bob Jack and sister, Susan Stromberg.
