David W. Egenes, age 80, of Lamberton, MN, died on October 27, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Sturm Funeral Home - Lamberton will continue on Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton, Minnesota. Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church On Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:00 Am. Interment will be at the Lamberton Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton. Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
David William Egenes was born on January 20, 1945, to Lars and Dessie Egenes. He attended and graduated from Storden High School in 1963. David proudly served in the U.S. Airforce from June 27, 1963, to March 31, 1967.
He met the love of his life, Rosslynn Nerem, and the two were married June 5, 1965. This marriage was blessed with four children - Todd, Tadd, Clint and Sara.
After serving in the U.S. Airforce, Dave returned to Lamberton to farm. Later he started his career at the U.S. Post Office in Redwood Falls, MN, and then advanced to the Sanborn, Lamberton, and Springfield Post Offices. Dave finished his career as the Postmaster in the Springfield office.
Dave was active with the Lamberton Fire and Ambulance Department, Sanborn - Lamberton School Board, Ducks Unlimited and served on various advisory boards including the church council and nursing home. He loved watching sports, crossword puzzles, Memorial Day fish frys and family fishing trips to Lake of the Woods and other Northern Minnesota lakes. Dave was also a skilled carpenter. Many, many people benefited from his woodworking skills. No project was too big or small.
Dave is survived by his wife, Rosslynn; his children - Todd (Barb) Egenes, Tadd (Susan) Egenes, Clint (Lisa) Egenes, Sara (Matt) Fults; grandchildren - Nicole (Adam) Klinkner, Kristin (Tanner) Koep, Megan (Nathan) Johnson, Kayla (Calvin) Wolter, Ashley (Jose) Solis, Amanda (Matt) Mitzel, Aleah (Zack) Moist, Allison Egenes, Sydney Egenes, Jack Egenes, Maddie Fults and Ben Fults; great grandchildren - Elijah and Caleb Klinkner, Cooper Koep, Abigail and Amelia Solis, Ellie Mitzel, and sister Linda Pauling. He was preceded in death by his parents Lars and Dessie Egenes, brothers - Stanley, Leroy, Frank, and sisters - Cheryl Pabst, Harriet Moller, and Patty Banse.
