David Rueben Baerg age 89, of Mountain Lake, Minnesota died on February 5, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society-The Village, Mt Lake.
Service will be held at the Good Samaritan Village Chapel, Mt. Lake, on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm, visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
The clergy will be Pastor Merwin Dick. Interment will be at the First Mennonite Cemetery in Butterfield, Minnesota at a later date.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Mountain Lake.
David Rueben Baerg was born on March 19, 1934 to Jacob and Maria (Penner) Baerg in Butterfield, MN. He was a graduate of Mountain Lake High School. After graduation, he attended Mankato State College and later worked as a contractor. In June 1959 he united in marriage with the love of his life, Gail Irene Lindberg. He was the propieter of David Baerg Construction in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. He and Gail enjoyed traveling. They were very involved in their community and traveled to Maitland, Australia as an ambassador for the city of Brooklyn Park. David volunteered at Family of God Lutheran Church, Brooklyn Park and was a handyman for Lutheran Social Services. David was active in his church and in his free time, loved to tend his garden and travel.
David is survived by his son, Charles "Chuck" David (Anita) Baerg of Brooklyn Park; daughter, Lori Gail Baerg, also of Brooklyn Park; grandson, Joshua Baerg, New Hope; granddaughter, Courtney (Aaron) Heisterkamp, Brooklyn Center; sister, Mathilda "Tillie" (DeWayne) Erickson, Owatonna; brother, Art Baerg, Butterfield, Paul (Corina) Baerg, Alamo, Texas; 15 nieces and nephews; many cousins and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Maria Baerg; wife, Gail Baerg; sisters, Anna Ruth (Clifford) Koehn, Marie (Albert) Oeltjenbruns; brothers; Henry (Martha) Baerg, Jacob (Millie) Baerg; sister-in-law, Rosella Baerg; niece, Monica Fast and nephews, Mark and Joel Oeltjenbruns.
