Daryl Eugene Peitz

Daryl Peitz age 72, of Springfield, Minnesota went to be with our Lord on January 19, 2023. Daryl was born on September 1, 1950 to Rueben and Mildred (Stigge) Peitz, in Pueblo, Colorado. He is survived by his two daughters, Gretchen (Greg) Peichel of Springfield, Heidi (Kyle) Wheeler of Loveland, Colorado; granddaughter, Kyla Peichel; grandsons, Vincent Peichel, Ashton Greeno, Owen Wheeler; two sisters, Dara Domantay, Lanette (Joel) Mills of Graham, TX and many nieces and nephews. Daryl was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Mildred and son, Craig Peitz.

Daryl graduated from Mar Vista high school in Imperial Beach, California in 1969. he went on to get his Bachelor of Science in Education at Concordia Teacher College in Seward, Nebraska in 1973. This led to his career as an educator in math and athletics. In 1989, he went to CSU in Fort Collins, Colorado for Masters in Education and Administration.

Daryl has a long standing career in education, which started in 1973 at Zion Lutheran School in Anaheim, California, Christ Lutheran School in Costa Mesa, California, Center High School in Center, Colorado, Monte Vista High School in Monte Vista, Colorado and spent the majority of his teaching career at Frederick Junior Senior High School in Frederick, Colorado.

Daryl moved into an assistant principal role after completing his Masters and retired in 2008. He Lived in Rigby, Idaho from 2014 until 2021, when he decided to move to Saint James to be closer to family.
