Darrell Timm

February 22, 1933 — December 19, 2008

Darrell Maurice Timm, 75, of Lamberton died suddenly Friday morning, December 19th, at his home. Darrell was born February 22, 1933, in Waterbury Township, Redwood County on the family farm to Clarence and Lela (Radtke). He attended Country School and was baptized at Sharon Luthern Church. At the age of 19 he volunteered for the draft in January of 1953. He went to Arkansas for Basic Training and then received training in Morse Code. Part of his military time was spent stationed in Alaska. After his discharge in January of 1955, he and Jim Senst went to Wabasso and each purchased their first new car. He married Verna Schultz of Springfield on July 27, 1956. They farmed and lived their whole life together on the same farm in Waterbury Township. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends, family vacations at the lake, having coffee at the bakery, gardening, making horseradish, reading western novels, word search puzzles, taking pictures and being on the computer, playing Hearts etc. He also enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, and enjoyed vintage tractors. Darrell was a member of Lamberton Legion Post #41, Our Savior's Luthern Church, Lamberton Cemetery Board and was an active member of Thrivent. He is survived by his wife Verna of Lamberton; children Colleen (Jeff) Enstad of Watertown SD, Joan Timm of Bloomington, MN Nancy (Mark) Rohlik of Lucan, MN and Jeff Timm of Lamberton, MN; grandchildren Brad (Gina) Enstad, Mike Rohlik, Dan Enstad, Ben Rohlik Jessica Enstad; great grandchild Mackenzie Enstad; sister Joyce (late George) Fox of Sanborn; and brother Morris (Sharon) Timm of Lamberton. He was proceded in death by his son Scott and his parents.
