Darlene M Meyers

Darlene M. Meyers age 93, of Mountain Lake, MN, died on March 4, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society-The Village in Mountain Lake.


Service will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, Mountain Lake Chapel, on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior.


The clergy will be Rev. Merwin Dick and Rev. Rick Bremseth. Interment will be at Mountain Lake City Cemetery.

Darlene Mae Peterson, the daughter of Charles W. Peterson and Anna Mae (Johnson) was born on January 21, 1931 in Anna Township, MN. She was baptized at the Highwater Lutheran Church in Lamberton, MN, confirmed at the Arlington Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN and graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul, MN on June 15, 1949.  After graduation, Darlene moved to Mountain Lake and worked for 2 1/2 years at the Lehman Pharmacy.

On October 15, 1951, Darlene was united in Marriage to Donald G. Meyers at the Christian Reformed Church, north of Mountain Lake.  Don and Darlene Became members of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake on June 21, 1959.  Darlene loved being a stay at home mom, teaching Sunday School for many years and enjoyed helping with bible school in the summers.  Don and Darlene served together on the Christian Service Committee at church.

In March of 1965, Don and Darlene purchased the Standard Station from Irma Harder.  Together they owned and operated Don's Standard Station on the west edge of Mountain Lake for 20+ years.  In her spare time, Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, reading and taking lots of pictures of their travel, family events and reunions.


Darlene is survived by her 2 daughters, Karen (Darryl) Bargen of Mountain Lake, Karla Meyers of Richfield, MN; 6 grandchildren, Matt (Crista) Meyers, Renee Olson (Fiancé Cliff), David (Melissa) Bargen, Vicki (Ryan) Spychalla, Tim (Amanda) Meyers, Ryan (Emily) Fast; 14 great grandchildren, Devin, Dylan and Morgan Meyers, Caleb and Kaitlyn Olson, Johnathen, Alayna, Ian and Aubrey Bargen, Riley and Courtney Spychalla, Emma Meyers, Grayson and McKinley Fast; and 1 sister, Alice Dehmlow of Milwaukee, WI.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Meyers in 2009; parents, Charles and Anna Peterson; triplet sons, John, James and Joel in 1965; daughter, Luann Fast in 2016; son, Ronald Meyers in 2021; son-in-law, DeLyle Fast in 2010; sister, Rose Buller; brothers, Harold Thompson, Earl and Charles "Pete" Peterson; sisters-in-law, Anna Peterson, Maybin Meyers and Ethel Meyers.


The family would like to thank the Good Samaritan-The Village staff for the wonderful care and compassion they gave our Mom and Grandmother these last 7 years.
