Dale Lewis

Dale Edward Lewis of Madelia, Minnesota, was called home to our Lord on December 24, 2014, after battling cancer. Dale was born in Madelia on November 28, 1953 to Rolla Jim and Dorothy (Deling) Lewis. Dale lived most of his life in and around the Madelia area. He attended Madelia Elementary and graduated from Madelia High School in 1972. In June of 1972, he entered the United States Army and completed basic training in Fort Knox, KY. He was then stationed in Freeberg, Germany and was honorably discharged in June of 1975. In August of 1976 he met his future wife, Deborah Hoffrogge of New Ulm, MN. They were united in marriage on June 11, 1977 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of New Ulm. They resided in New Ulm until 1985 when they moved to Dale's family home in rural Madelia. They moved to town in 1990, to the home where the family still resides. Dale was a welder/driver most of his life. His last employment was with Palm Beach of New Ulm. He was a member of the National Guard Reserves for twenty-three years and nine months. Dale enjoyed spending time with his wife Deborah, children and granddaughters who were the light of his life. He also enjoyed camping, spending time with family and working on vehicles of his own and of friends. Dale is survived by his wife of thirty-seven and a half years, Deborah (Hoffrogge) Lewis; daughter, Jennifer (Justin) Pahl of Lake Crystal; son, Daniel (Krystal) Lewis of Fairbault; granddaughters, Johanna and Kallie Pahl, Alea and Kylie Lewis; brothers, Dean (Kim) Lewis of Lewisville, Gordon (Lois) Lewis of Coon Rapids; sister, Bonnie Lewis of Jeffers; a sister-in-law, Cindy (Mike) Hitchcock of Fairmont, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolla and Dorothy Lewis, and two brothers, Larry and Allen Lewis.
