Cynthia Gay

Cindy Gay, age 75, of St. James died on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Society in St. James. Memorial services will be 2pm, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in St. James with Rev. Andy Hermodson-Olsen and Rev. Matthew Seegert officiating. Cynthia Sue Stamp was born in Worthington, MN, on June 28, 1943, the daughter of Art and Sylvia (Kettel) Stamp. Cindy grew up in Worthington and St. James. She graduated from St. James High School in 1961. On June 10, 1961, she was united in marriage to Jerry Gay. The couple have made St. James their home ever since. Cindy worked at the produce manager as Colliers grocery store for many years. Her and Jerry enjoyed their annual motorcycle trips out west. She loved to attend her grandkids activities and school events. She was active at First Lutheran Church serving as Sunday School Superintendent. She also enjoyed reading, baking cookies and collecting, coins, baskets, crocks and other items. Cindy is survived by her husband Jerry of St. James, children; Todd & Sandra Gay of Bird Island and their children Jacob, Alex and grandchild Thea, Paula & Pat Waldron of Winterset, IA and their children Sadie and Seth, Christine & Christopher Damstrom of Dexter, IA and their son C.J., brother Robert (Gaylene) Stamp of Crawfordville, FL, sister Carole (Bill) Haberman of Brewster, nieces, nephews and a cousin. She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers David, Bill and Wayne. Service Information 2:00 pm Thursday, March 7, 2019 First Lutheran Church, St. James 716 6th Ave. S.
