Curtis Swenson

September 20, 1943 — January 12, 2014

Curtis Duane Swenson was born on September 20, 1943, in Starbuck, Minnesota, the son of Clifford and Evelyn (Ellingson) Swenson. Curt grew up in the Benson and Willmar area. He moved to Madelia as a young adult where he lived and worked most of his life. He worked at the bread plant as a maintenance supervisor for many years and for several different owners. Curt enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, biking and camping. He also enjoyed watching wrestling on t.v. and the Minnesota Gophers. Curtis loved his family and the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was quite the jokester. Curt is survived by his wife; Lynnette Swenson of Mankato, children; Bryan (Michelle) Swenson of Colorado Springs, CO, Kimberly (Bill) Whitehead of St. James, Malissa (David) Johnson of Schofield, WI, Lana (Jesus, Sr.) Lopez of Madelia, step-children; Joel (Barbara) Neppl of Clarksville, TN, Lisa Weed and Brandyn of Wayzata, brother; Verlin (Eileen) Ellingson of Inver Grove Heights, brother-in-law; Orville Johnson of Osakis, sisters-in-law; Birdie Swenson of Willmar, Janice (Howard) Shane of Sioux Falls, SD, Brenda Borkenhage of Mankato, Lois Borkenhagen of Mankato, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Donnie, sister; RuthAnn and a grandson; Eric McMullen.
