Curtis Keith Olson

Curtis Keith Olson, age 77, of Saint James died on August 28, 2023 at his home.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.Memorial service will be held at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James.

Curt was born August 26, 1946 in Holstein, Iowa. He attended school in Trimont. Curt served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1967 on the USS Princeton. On May 27, 2005, he married Sandra Meyer in St. James.

Curt was a proud veteran who enjoyed marching in parades with the St. James Honor Guard and military honors for funerals. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his step grandchildren.

Curt is survived by his brothers, Tom (Denise) of St. James and Orwin (Linda) Wilkison of Arkansas; 3 step daughters, Luwanna (John) Pohl of Apple Valley, Jodi (Shawn) Rettig of Spencer, Iowa, and Patty (Bret Rich) Meyer of Truman; 8 step grandchildren, Erin (Luis) of Elmhurst, IL, Tyler (Teah) Meyer of Wells, Taylor Meyer of Truman, Teanna Meyer of Mankato, Nicole (Kyle) Flohrs of Trimont, Denver Olmstead of Spencer, Iowa, Dakota (Becca) Rettig and Theron (Lisa) Rettig; 9 step great grandchildren, Sofia Serrano, Jaxson and Grayson Meyer, Aris, Kayven, Fenyx, and Caelid Rettig, and Noah and Isleigh Simmons.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandy; 2 sisters, Beverly Olson and Betty (Chuck) Sanns; and three brothers, Willie, Jerry, and Orrin.
