Curtis Wayne Lenning

Curtis Wayne Lenning, 66, of Butterfield, Minnesota died on April 6, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus in Rochester, Minnesota.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at East Sveadahl Lutheran Church in rural Saint James and will continue on Monday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church. A memorial service will be held at East Sveadahl Lutheran Church, on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11:00 am. The clergy will be the Rev. Mandy France. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Odin, Minnesota. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Curt was born March 15, 1959, to Duane and Beverly (Bean) Lenning in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. He graduated from Prior Lake High School in 1978. Curt drove truck for a living, traveling from Minnesota to California weekly. In 1999, Curt married Bev Wolle and together they raised two children, Mercedes and Mason.

Curt scheduled his routine around the TV show, Gunsmoke, he never missed an episode. In his free time, he enjoyed hours of hunting, breeding and training dogs, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Curt is survived by his children, Mercedes and Mason Lenning; sisters, Peggy Franz and Therese (Brian) Romsdahl; Mercedes and Mason's mother, Bev Lenning; and his dogs, Oscar, Jane, Rover, and Taylor.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LoRay Lenning; brother-in-law, Ronald Scherer; his grandparents; and many loving dogs.
