Curtis Harder

Curtis Allan Harder, 70, of Mountain Lake, died August 21, 2026, at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Curt was born October 11, 1955, to Raymond and Delores (Niessen) Harder in Butterfield, Minnesota. He graduated from Butterfield High School in 1974 and continued his education at Alexandria Vocational Technical College. On August 28, 1993, Curt married Gretchen Stenzel of Wells, Minnesota at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato. Together, they made their home in Mountain Lake.

Curt worked for Midway Farm Equipment in Mountain Lake as a farm mechanic for 37 years. In his free time, he enjoyed restoring steam engines and whistles. For over 50 years he was heavily involved with the Thrashing Bee in Butterfield. He also had a love for Gretchen's tropical birds.

Curt is survived by his wife, Gretchen; sister, Renee (Tim) Herrig; and brother-in-law, Randy Lundsten.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Robyn Lundsten.
