Cordella Theresa Knadel was born March 14, 1918, in Springfield, MN, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Hagedorn) Moeller. She attended Springfield High School and was united in marriage to Arthur Knadel on March 28, 1936, in New Ulm. Born to this union were four sons from four different decades - Tom in the 30's, Wayne in the 40's, Gary in the 50's, and Clyde in the 60's. Cordella worked at Russ Marron's Sweet Shop in the 50's, for Dr. Tessien in the 60's, at St. John Lutheran Home as a cook in the 70's, Kopel's Restaurant which later became Lipetzky's in the 80's, then worked for Dr. Haugo. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cooking, baking and crocheting. Cordella especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Cordella Knadel died Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 89 years. She is survived by sons- Tom and wife Judy Knadel of Tea, SD, Wayne and wife Bernice Knadel of Sleepy Eye, Gary and wife Dorothy Knadel of Brainerd, and Clyde and wife Cathy Knadel of New Ulm; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Arthur in 1978; brother- Elvin; sisters- Loretta Schwartz, Marlowe Skarp, and Viola Schmid; and grandson- Jacob in 2000.
