Funeral services for Constance Madson, age 82, of St. James, will be 1:30PM, Friday, August 10, 2007 at First Lutheran Church in St. James. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Connie passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Immanuel-St. Jospeh's Hospital in Mankato. Constance May Arveson was born to parents Clarence and Luella (Danielson) Arvesen on May 1, 1925 at Montevideo, MN. She grew up in Northfield until moving to Cambridge where she graduated from High School. She then attended St. Olaf College in Northfield where she graduated in 1947. On June 20, 1947, she was united in marriage to Richard Madson at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield. They lived in Canton, SD, where they both taught school for two years. In 1949 they moved to Kenyon and to St. James in 1957. Richard was High School Principal in St. James retiring in 1982. Connie was a member of First Lutheran Church in St. James. Connie lovingly and generously gave of herself to son Rick and her late husband Richard. Connie is survived by her son Richard Paul Madson of Mankato, sisters Helen Engen of Northfield, sisters-in-law Martha Arvesen of Waseca, Eileen Arvesen of Waseca, Louise Arvesen of Battle Lake, brother-in-law Richard Brurok of Milwaukee, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Eleanor, brothers Norman, Charles, Paul, and brother-in-law A.B. Engen.
