Colleen Carlson

Memorial visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James from 4pm until 7pm. Colleen Kaye Evans was born in Lake Benton, MN on December 7, 1940, to parents Lloyd and Nelta (Freiberg) Evans. She grew up in the Lake Benton area where she attended school and graduated from Lake Benton High School in 1958. Colleen was united in marriage to William Charles Carlson on October 10, 1958. Colleen and Bill moved to St. James in 1966 where they raised their sons. Colleen went to work at Pleasant View Nursing Home in 1982 and worked there until her retirement after 26 years on January 2, 2008. Colleen loved gardening, jig saw puzzles, cross stitch, movies, her dog Willy and spending time with family and friends. Colleen Carlson, age 68, of St. James died on Friday, December 26, 2008 at the home of her son in Buffalo, MN. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Nick Ronda Carlson of Buffalo, Kenny Gale Carlson of St. James, sisters and their husbands Jean Charles Melloy of Albuquerque, NM, Joyce Bill Kortlever of St. Cloud, FL, Marilyn Chuck Olson of Shoreview, brothers and their wives David Jan Evans of Laurens, IA, Rolland Karen Evans of Fridley, grandchildren Nicole Aaron Fobbe, Andrew Carlson, Samantha Carlson, Christina Carlson, Triscia Wade Evenson, Aaron Schmillen, Allison Grant Halverson, great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emmyrsen, Paxton, Holden and her companion Alfred Fritz Plath of St. James. She was preceded in death by her son David, husband, parents and brother Tommy.
