Clifford John Wolle

Clifford Wolle, age 86, of St. James, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society - Pleasant View in St. James. Funeral services will be 11:00am, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at First Lutheran Church in St. James with Pastors Matthew Seegert and Andy Hermodson-Olsen officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday beginning at 9:30am until service time. Covid precautions will be followed including face masks and social distancing. Clifford John Wolle was born at Lewisville, MN, November 17, 1934. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville. He lived north of St. James, MN, for several years, then 5 miles south of town attending country school. Clifford graduated from St. James High School in 1952. As a teen, Cliff worked for area farmers bailing hay and shelling corn, as well as working at the local Standard Oil station. Cliff joined the National Guard in 1954. Cliff met Eldora Wright on a blind date in the summer of 1958 and were married on Valentine's Day 1959. They recently celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. Clifford worked for the St. James Post Office as a rural mail carrier as well as farming. In 1965 they purchased their first farm and continued buying more farms in Nelson Township. Cliff's goal in life was to farm big like his Grandpa John. Together Cliff and Eldora raised a family of five children, Brad, Kris, Karla, Kelly and Brian. Later on in life Clifford enjoyed collecting Oliver tractors from the earlier farming days. Faith, family and farming were the center of his life. Clifford is survived by his wife Eldora of St. James, children Brad Wolle of St. James, Kris Wolle of New Ulm, Kelly Curry of New Ulm, Brian (Laurie) Wolle of St. James, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and sister Rosella Johnson of St. James.
