Clifford graduated from Superior, IA High School in which he was in 4-H and loved playing center on his basketball team. After high school he farmed with his father. He served on the Delft elevator board until it was destroyed by fire. Following their retirement, Cliff and Velma raised their 3 grandchildren, Marcus, Tori and Josey. Cliff loved to create something with his hands and weld it into something useful out of something old. He had a gift of mechanic skills and used this all of his life. Velma passed away in 2007. In 2008 he married a family friend Shirley Hansen. They enjoyed many years together in their home at Mountain Lake. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley.
