Cleo May Olson

Cleo May Olson, age 95, of St. James, Minnesota, died on September 23, 2025.

Funeral Service will be held at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00 am. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the funeral.

Interment will be at the East Sveadahl Lutheran Cemetery in rural St. James.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.

Cleo May (Blanshan) Olson was born to Victor and Estella (Pfluaupt) Blanshan on July 17, 1930 in Windom, MN. She graduated from Windom High School in 1949. She married Noren Olson in 1950, and was married to Noren for 52 1/2 years when he passed away in 2002.

Cleo worked several years at the St. James Plaindealer office and worked at Sward-Kemp Drug until it closed. She enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives, walking, gardening, attending church events and most of all, playing with her great-grandchildren.

Cleo is survived by her children, Steven Olson, Patti Olson, Julie (Robert) Brown, and Nancy Olson; grandchildren, Michelle (Jon) Hagen, Lindsey Webber, Zachary Treitline, and Zoe Olson, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Noren Olson, one grandchild, and twelve siblings.
