Claus Evers

December 27, 1920 — April 23, 2005

Claus John Evers, Jr. was born on December 27, 1920 in Springfield, MN, the son of Claus, Sr. Marie (Peterson) Evers. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 until 1945. Claus Ole married Mildred Guhlke on June 14, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. He worked for Pershing Snow and farmed in Brown County for 37 years before retiring and moving to Sleepy Eye in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, his fish pond and mowing lawn. He most enjoyed and loved his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Ole was a member of the VFW Post #800 and the American Legion. Claus Ole John Evers, age 84, died on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. Survivors include his children; Janice Evers, Dale (Mary Jo) Evers, Larry (Diane) Evers, all of Sleepy Eye, Karen (Dennis) Schroeder of Hancock, Richard (Kenwyn) Evers of Olivia, 9 grandchildren; Tracy Evers fiance (TJ White), Michelle Evers fiance (Chad Swenstad), Matt (Stephanie) Evers, Ryan Schroeder, Dusty (Kim) Schroeder, Cory Schroeder, Dan Evers, Angela Evers, Melissa Evers, 5 great grandchildren; Brandon Martinez, Marisa Martinez, Devon Schroeder, Dain Schroeder, Logan White, brother, Herman Evers of St. Paul, sisters; Arlene Ebilsior of New Ulm, Donna Mae (Edwin) Iverson of Buhl, Idaho, Margret Iverson of Lafayette, Mary Ann (Norbert) Ranwieler of St. George, sister-in-law, Madeline Evers of Bingham Lake and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred in 1984, grandson, Scott Schroeder, sisters, Jennie Sellner, Dorothy Rockvam, Inez Ludewig, and brothers, Joe, Fred, Hans, Ted and Herman Evers in infancy.
