Clarice Eleanor Steer was born November 26, 1910 in Springfield, MN, the daughter of August and Elsie (Leuth) Dehne. Following her graduation from Springfield High School, Clarice attended Mankato Teachers College for two years. She taught in country schools in rural Springfield and Cobden. After her retirement, Clarice tutored to individuals. On May 1, 1937 Clarice was united in marriage to Harold 'Scotty' Steer in Minneapolis. She was a lifetime resident of Springfield, a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and a member of the Mary Magdalene Circle. Clarice enjoyed playing bridge and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Clarice Eleanor Steer died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 94 years. Survivors include daughters- Karen and husband Arnie Hillman of Eden Prairie,MN, and Kathleen and husband Jack Caulder of Bloomington,MN; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Harold 'Scotty' in 1991; and sister- Esther Robinson.
